WELCOME
The UNESCO International Centre for Engineering Education (UICEE) is based in the Faculty of Engineering at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, and began its operation on 1 January 1994. The Centre operates under the Directorship of A/Prof. Zenon J. Pudlowski.
Prof. Harold P. Sjursen, Associate Provost, Polytechnic University, Brooklyn, New York, USA, is Chairman of the UICEE Academic Advisory Committee (AAC). The Deputy Chairmen of the AAC are: Prof. Józef Lisowski, Rector of Gdynia Maritime University, Gdynia, Poland; Prof. Yuri P. Pokholkov, Rector of the Tomsk Polytechnic University, Tomsk, Russia, and President of the Russian Association for Engineering Education (RAEE); and Prof. Doraiswamy Viswanathan, Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, Chennai, India.
The mission of the UICEE, the world's first and only centre of its kind, was developed in accordance with the principle of global solidarity. The key objective in the Centre's operation is the sharing of knowledge and expertise on engineering education through its role as an information broker. The Centre has persistently carried out a wide range of activities in engineering and technology education in order to assist developing countries and countries in social, political and economic transition to improve and advance their education systems. As an advocate and facilitator of the sharing of knowledge, the UICEE espouses the solidarity of humankind and aspires through its work to the achievement of genuine and lasting peace, a dream that seeks a foothold in reality.
In its endeavour, the UICEE proudly operates under the motto of Serving the International Engineering Community.
