Engineering is often referred to as the ‘science of problem solving’. It was this description, along with a passion for maths and science, that inspired David Gunn to pursue a double degree in Science and Engineering.
“At an early age, my favourite toy was the Lego Technic, and all the moving parts and construction intricacies fascinated me”.
David chose to study at Monash University because he felt comfortable and relaxed at the Clayton campus. He uses the computing laboratory frequently and is impressed by the easy access to relevant and up-to-date programs.
David has had a wonderful time discovering new subjects,
“Obviously my passion for mathematics guarantees my maths unit (MTH2010 in the science faculty) was my favourite subject. However, of my other subjects I found ENG1040 Engineering Dynamics incredibly interesting and I found myself wanting to study for it more than any other subject I was doing that semester”.
Although David is not entirely sure of what to do after graduating, he is interested in the prospects of a career overseas.
“I believe this course and University is so well acclaimed, this opportunity is very much a reality!”
