PhD Project

I'll be sure to let you know as soon as I know myself! It'll be something in Haptics + Teleoperation + Micro/Nano Manipulation if that helps. At the moment I am trying to set up a Haptic virtual teleoperation system using PHANToM Desktop, OpenHaptics, and Visual C++ .Net.

Research Interests

  • Haptics
  • Teleoperation
  • Micro / nano manipulation
  • Parallel Mechanisms
  • Co-operative Control

Tips!

You know how sometimes especially when you are not an expert in the field these small utterly stupid problems come up and you need to spend a day finding a 5-min solution for a problem? well, here is a collection of the ones I have had to deal with and the solutions. Just in case it could save someone (and myself) some time..

What am I working on right now?

I started writing two weekly reports in October 2005. It's mostly for myself so that I have a brief record of what I have been doing, and it does help with the thought process / big picture / efficiency as well. Hopefully, I'll keep it up.

I have to mentioned that this is not meant to be an accurate reference for anything. I'm simply learning about the topics and on the top of that I don't pay too much attention about the correctness of what I write (that's not the object of these reports). So chances are there would be numerous conceptual, factual, and spelling/grammatical errors in the documents to the extent of being really embarrassing. It might not be such a good idea to put them up on the web for a couple of reasons, but I'll see how it goes.

anyway, I am compiling them over here for now.
