The second cohort for the Monash Engineering Leadership in a Technological Environment Program were introduced to the program during a three day residential at Mt Eliza.
The three days involved team activities, information & learning sessions all focused on leadership, communication and understanding the difference between leaders and managers. The group were also able to meet and spend time with industry guests and faculty representatives.
Professor Tam Sridhar welcomed the participants and opened the proceedings with an inspirational speech highlighting the value of engineers within our community, the breadth of opportunities available, how an engineer with well-rounded skills can define their own career path and urged participants to utilise the support and growth programs available via Monash University and the Faculty.
Our special guests, Dr Mark Hodge (CEO) from AADI and Mr Roger Olds (Managing Director) from Coffey, talked of their own experiences and shared view on what leadership is really all about. With both agreeing the Leadership Program is a unique opportunity for all participants to prepare themselves for their future careers. |
