Foundation dinner

The Monash Engineering Foundation is hosting the gala event that will bring together hundreds of VIPs at the 21st century research facility that is taking shape next to the university’s Clayton campus

Leaders in science and technology, industry, politics and the community will mingle at the unique black tie dinner that will be held in the football field-size building that is due for completion in March 2007.

The invited guests will enjoy an unprecedented and unique opportunity to view the largest and most advanced facility of its kind in the southern hemisphere. Once the Australian Synchrotron is operational, such access will be impossible.

Guest at the event will include:

  • Victorian Minister for Innovation, Hon John Brumby;
  • Australian of the Year 2005, Dr Fiona Wood; world renowned scientist
  • Vice-Chancellor of Monash University, Professor Richard Larkins;
  • Dean of Engineering, Monash University, Professor Tam Sridhar and<
  • Monash Emeritus Professor and Chairman of the Monash Engineering Foundation, Professor Peter Darvall.

Distinguished guests will also include the CEOs of leading engineering firms such as Thiess, Bassett and JMP as well as pioneers of Australia’s engineering industry.
