COMING SOON

In 2007, Dr. Birbilis led a ARC-LIEF bid – along with several others including MCEM - for the acquisition of a Dual Beam Focused Ion Beam (to also include a Field Emission electron column and high speed EBSD capability).

In conjunction with Melbourne University, 2007 also saw another successful ARC-LIEF bid to bring a non-contact Optical Profilometer into the Lab. This will be very valuable for detailed 3D surface characterization from the nm to mm length scale.
