ECSE 2012 Postgraduate Student Research Forum

The Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering holds a Postgraduate Research Forum each year where students are given the opportunity to give a professional three minute presentation to share their individual fields of study with their peers and academic staff to prepare them for industry exposure on completion of their degrees. The winner of the presentation competition proceeds to the Faculty of Engineering 3MT final.

A Poster Competition is also held on the day.

The prizewinners winners of the 2012 Poster Competition are:

  • 1st prize: Emma Brunton: 'Optimising electrode geometry for a cortical visual prosthesis'.
  • 2nd prize: Mohammad Zomorrodi: 'Image-based chipless RFID system'
  • 3rd Prize: Chanaka Rupasinghe: ' Modelling a spherical Spaser'

The prizewinners of the 2012 Three Minute Thesis presentation competition are:

  • 1st prize ECSE representation in the Engineering Faculty final - Emma Brunton: 'Optimising electrode geometry for a cortical visual prosthesis'.
  • 2nd prize- Mohammad Zomorrodi: 'Image-based chipless RFID system'
  • 3rd prize- Kamlesh Pawar: ' Fast imaging for magnetic resonance imaging'
