Summer semester

The Faculty of Engineering does not offer units over the summer semester. Subject to course structure, you may be able to take a summer unit from another faculty or another institution such as Monash College. You are advised to read the information on the University's summer semester website if you are considering undertaking a summer unit with another faculty.

Monash College Summer units

The Monash College website contain information on level one units being offered during summer as well as application, timetable and fees information.

Credit transfer for Monash College engineering units

Engineering students who pass an approved Monash college unit will receive credit for the corresponding unit in their engineering degree program. You will need to submit an application for credit transfer to the Engineering faculty office to have the credit recorded against your engineering degree program. Monash College units will be counted in the calculation of your honours weighted average (HWA) but will not be counted in the GPA/WAM.

Units offered by other faculties in Australia

If you wish to undertake a unit from another faculty in Australia over summer semester you must get signed approval from that faculty and from your engineering course adviser. The signed enrolment amendment form should be lodged at the Engineering faculty office. You must ensure that your enrolment form is submitted before the closing date for the other faculty.

Units offered by Sunway campus

If you wish to undertake a unit from another faculty at Sunway campus, Malaysia over summer semester you must obtain signed approval from your engineering course adviser. You must complete the Sunway campus summer semester form. The signed Sunway campus, Malaysia application form and relevant documentation (passport, Malaysia ID) should be lodged directly to the Sunway campus by the closing.

Units offered by other universities

If you wish to undertake a unit from another university over summer semester you must obtain signed approval from your engineering course adviser. The signed application for complementary study should be lodged at the Engineering faculty office. The faculty will then determine whether to approve your application. Students are advised to await official notification from the faculty before enrolling in units at another university.
