Biochemical Engineering Programme
Biochemical engineering contributes to the education and development of
Australia's future chemical and bioprocess engineers. Industries that
benefit from this knowledge include the biotechnology, pharmaceutical,
health, veterinary, agricultural, water treatment and food industries.
Postgraduates: Undergraduate students interested in undertaking
masters or PhD research projects with the BEL group should contact Lilyanne
Price, Chemical Engineering Academic Programs Administrator (Email:
Lilyanne.Price@eng.monash.edu.au).
Each year Monash University administers a number of scholarships for
Australian and international applicants. <http://www.mrgs.monash.edu.au/scholarships/application/>
Undergraduates: Research projects into biotechnology topics may be
undertaken by final year chemical engineering students and undergraduate
vacation scholarship holders. An elective stream in “Biotechnology” is
currently taught to chemical engineering students. In addition, the
Department of Chemical Engineering is assisting to run a stream within the
new B.Biotech (Hons) degree in the area of ' Biomolecular Processing'.
