Laboratory Time

Design an electrochemical cell powerful enough to drive a small car. During this laboratory exercise, you will be given an opportunity to design your own cell to drive a small electric car. Given a collection of chemicals and materials, do you think that you can accomplish this? This will be run as a competition; the car that travels the fastest wins! Chemical Engineers working in the minerals industry use knowledge of electrochemistry to extract metals such as copper and aluminium from their ores.
