Ms. Melanie Ooi and her team from the School of Engineering, at Monash Sunway Campus, have been awarded a Vice-Chancellor’s Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning at the Vice Chancellor’s Teaching Awards, announced and presented at the open event for ‘Education Matters’ week.

Following graduation from Monash University in engineering, Peter commenced with ICI Australia as Sulphuric Acids Superintendent at Yarraville Victoria. This involved the direct management of 60 staff in running the 540tpd contact plant and chamber plants

The world of engineering will change dramatically over the coming decades. Consider the major issues of our time such as climate change and water and sustainable energy for development. These are issues looking for solutions. The solutions will most likely be found by teams of engineers and specialists in other disciplines working together. More than ever before, these teams will span the globe, giving a whole new positive meaning to the word globalisation.
