Dr Mark Hodge

Dr. Mark Hodge is currently the CEO of the Defence Materials Technology Centre (DMTC). Mark has a strong background in R&D management and innovation in the defence and aerospace fields. Dr. Hodge led the Victorian Government's Commercialisation team during 2003, during the development of a new technology commercialisation support program, prior to setting up AADI. Mark resinged as the CEO from AADI in 2008 before heading up DMTC.

Between 1997 and 2003, Mark worked as a Senior Engineer and Research & Development Director for METSS Corporation, a technology development and commercialisation group based in the United States. Mark's time at METSS included business development and business partnership & strategy roles, in addition to direct technology development responsibilities. METSS worked almost exclusively as a technology development agency under contract with different branches of the US Military, successfully commercialising a range of technologies, which were taken to market through spinoff, startup, joint venture or licensing strategies directly into the defence/aerospace industries or through dual-use pathways.

Prior to joining METSS, Mark was a lecturer in Engineering at Monash University and Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia. Mark has consulted for a range of multinational companies and is the author of 3 US patents and numerous US industry publications. Mark maintains a strong network throughout the United States and Canada.
